About Leave Advice

Plain answers to the date and hour questions that come with time away from work: how much paid time off you earn, how many hours a year your schedule is, when maternity or parental leave can start and end under the official rule, which public holidays fall on which day, and how long you have been with an employer.

Who runs this site

Leave Advice (leaveadvice.com) is operated by Anderson Gomes Ferreira. contato@leaveadvice.com

How it works

Every rule that gives a deadline, a length or a holiday is read from an official page (a government site or the text of the law) opened on the day shown beside it. The link and the day are on the page, next to the result.

What we could not open or confirm is labelled “not confirmed” on the tool and kept out of every date. Rules of thumb that are only common practice are labelled as such and can be edited.

Maternity and parental leave covers four countries only (the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia) and gives dates and weeks, never money. Dates are calendar arithmetic with no time of day and no time zone.

The tools run in your browser. The dates and names you type stay on the page: they are not sent to our servers and are not put in the address.

How we keep the content up to date

Each rule shows the day it was checked. Holiday lists cover 2026 and 2027 and are reviewed when the publisher releases a new year; leave rules are reviewed when the official page changes.

What this site is not

This is information, not legal advice. Your employer, your contract, your state or province and a union agreement can give you more than the minimum shown here, and rules change. Leave and holiday pay is not calculated. Confirm dates with your employer and the official body before you plan or give notice.
